Madrid Metro Line 11 extension

Our multi-service vehicles, manufactured by TMS, support tunnel logistics for the extension of Madrid Metro Line 11 between Plaza Elíptica and Conde de Casal. This project aims to improve urban mobility in the Spanish capital.

Expanding Madrid’s metro network

The Metro Line 11 extension will add nearly 7 km of new tunnel, connecting Plaza Elíptica with Conde de Casal. Tunnelling is carried out using a 9.4 m diameter Earth Pressure Balance (EPB) TBM, approximately 98 m long and weighing around 1,500 tons.

The machine is designed for efficient tunnelling operations and is capable of advancing up to 15 meters per day.

MSVs for segment and personnel transport

To support underground logistics, TMS is supplying two Multi-Service Vehicles for segment transport and one Personnel Service Vehicle for crew transport.
The MSVs are designed to carry up to two segment rings per trip, enabling efficient material transport within the tunnel environment.

With their configuration and capacity, the MSVs contribute to reliable and continuous logistics during tunnel construction.
TMS is pleased to support this project and would like to thank its customer, UTE Metro Línea 11 (Dragados, Acciona, Rover), for their trust and cooperation. The company looks forward to the successful progress of tunnelling works in Madrid.
